The Full Story
India may not be more than 5,000-6,000 years old but it has a very rich, colorful and eventful history and there is absolutely no denying that. It is a history so vast that we are still trying to unravel numerous mysteries. Our country holds a lot of fascinating stories and our monuments are the best portrayal of that. They are so beautifully constructed and carved on, that it is almost impossible to take your eyes off of them. The fact that people do not understand the skills and patience that the Indian workers had back then was immaculate. The art, the intricate details, the storytelling, it was all perfect. If one looks closely at the carvings and inscriptions, you will find that they showcase an entire story or mythology. So I went all the way back to the roots to find my inspiration for this project.

Inspiration Board
What I understood when I was looking at the monuments was that there is a huge difference between Hindu and Islamic architecture. Both of them are constructed with different kinds of details that are really hard to miss. Hence, the pictures have an essence of the Mughals, the Rajputs and several other empires that ruled India and constructed such beautiful buildings. But one thing that I found was common in all these monuments were the carvings. Every piece of architecture had carvings that explained various different stories and that is exactly what kept the theme connected.
Mood Board
The mood board here again talks about the vibe of the theme and the mood of the collection. I made sure that all the pictures that I added were the ones I found truly interesting and inspiring. The focus is not only on a particular era in Indian history but various parts of it. It is also about the cultures and modernization of it all. Romanticizing the Indian culture.
Color and Texture Board
With the theme in mind, the color palette had to be all about neutral tones and the textures smooth and tough at the same time.
